Caviar & Square: The Future of Food Delivery

Square and Caviar When Abel, Andy, Richard, Shawn, and I got together in San Francisco in the summer of 2012, we were frustrated by how difficult it was to have meals delivered from our favorite restaurants. Nick’s Crispy Tacos, Cha Cha Cha, Ike’s Place, A16 — we appreciate a good meal, and getting food delivered from these iconic places was impossible.

So we launched Caviar, which is the best way to get delivery from top-rated, popular local restaurants that do not otherwise offer delivery on their own. Two years later, we’ve served more than one million meals for hundreds of restaurants across six states. Our customers, restaurant partners, and couriers are the epicenter of what makes Caviar so special. Thank you. There’s so much more to do, and we’re just getting started.

Today, we’re excited to announce that Caviar is joining Square. Together we’ll double down our mission of delivering premium food through a premium delivery service with no compromises — giving buyers easy access to the food and restaurants they love so much.

It has been, and will continue to be, an incredible journey. Our ultimate vision aligns with Square’s: to provide local merchants with the best tools to grow and sustain their businesses. Delivery is no doubt an important component of helping a business drive additional revenue, and we’ll work hard to create new and exciting features for everyone.

congratulations. This sounds like a partnership that won’t result in Caviar being slowly phased out of the market and merely used for Square’s research. I order a lot of food here in NYC. Please get some more Manhattan restaurants :o)

Look forward to being able to place Caviar orders from within the Square app, or as a standalone app. I will be so spoiled :)

OMG I just ordered a bahn meh sandwich, just a sandwich. Did not have to order $25 worth of food to get delivery. This has changed how everyone at my business will eat. There are like 20 different restaurants. I AM SUPER excited!!!!!

I ordered and it never showed up. When I called no one answered. They sent me a receipt indicating my card would be charged though.
