Philadelphia may be a town better known for its cheesesteaks, but its steak steaks deserve some renown, too. A perfectly prepared steak is a thing of beauty — simple and rich, with no Cheez Whiz in sight — and these restaurants deliver (literally). DoorDash diners know what’s good, so to create our list of the best steakhouses in Philly we simply took a look at some of the spots where you’re ordering steak most often.

Butcher Bar

At this Rittenhouse Square restaurant, it’s all about meat and comfort food. With steakhouse classics like a 16-ounce dry-aged rib eye and 6-ounce petite filet, there is something for every appetite. The sides are far from afterthoughts, with dishes like smoked gouda mac-n-cheese and buttery mashed potatoes. Don’t forget their nutella-stuffed cast-iron chocolate chip cookie for dessert.

The Urban Farmer

This farm-to-table restaurant’s focus is on high-quality ingredients and an easygoing approach to the classic American steakhouse. You’ll know where your meat is coming from since they’re specific with their sourcing, including a 14-ounce rib eye from North Carolina’s Joyce Farms and the 8-ounce Piedmontese filet from Nebraska. They care just as much about their vegetables, too — all the produce is organic.

Rittenhouse Grill

When you want as classic as classic gets, Rittenhouse Grill is where to order from. The namesake Roast Prime Rib Rittenhouse cut and their USDA Prime filet mignon are always great ideas. Oh, and accompanied by a side of buttery sautéed spinach and steak fries? Sounds like the perfect dinner.

Malbec Argentine Steakhouse

For a South American take on steak, Malbec delivers. They have the traditional 10-ounce entraña (skirt steak), but they also have appetizers like the empanada carne, a lightly fried beef-filled pastry, and provoleta a la parrilla, a grilled gratin topped with freshly chopped tomato and oregano. We highly recommend the caramelly flan Argentino for dessert.

Tomodachi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

For another international spin on steak, this restaurant is delivering the ultimate surf and turf. You can have your steak with a side of tempura, too. We love to go for a taste of it all with the Hibachi Entrees Dinner combinations, where you get soup, salad, fried rice, and vegetables alongside your shrimp and filet mignon.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill (North Wales)

If you’re looking for a steakhouse that’s simple and reasonably priced, this chain delivers. With their family meal deals for four to six people, you can customize your dinner by choosing a salad, side, entrée, bread, and dessert. Mix-and-match favorites like Parmesan mashed potatoes, wood-grilled chicken, and a Caesar salad to get exactly what you’re looking for.

Kyoto Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse

Another hibachi and seafood combination, Kyoto is as much about the rolls as it is the steak. We love to mix and match the spicy crab and shrimp tempura rolls with one of the teriyaki bento boxes. Don’t forget an extra side of their addictive spicy mayo; it’s got the perfect zing.

Red Wine

At Red Wine, you can satisfy all those steakly desires, but also the pasta ones. With an extensive menu that has everything from shrimp Alfredo to lobster to T-bone steak, there really is an option for everyone. They also have dishes like mofongo and green plantains if you’re looking for something a little different.

Morton's the Steakhouse

Morton’s is classic for a reason. At this just-the-right-amount-of-fancy restaurant, quality is never compromised. They nail all the staples with a center-cut filet mignon, smoked gouda and bacon au gratin potatoes, and, of course, a New York-style cheesecake for dessert. We love their amply portioned sides, which are ideal for sharing, but we won’t judge if you keep all the thick-cut onion rings with truffle dipping sauce for yourself.

Yoshimoto Japanese Steakhouse

It’s equally about the steak and sushi at Yoshimoto. They are doing everything from teriyaki to tempura to hand rolls. Get a taste of it all with one of their hibachi dinners, which comes with soup, salad, shrimp, fried rice, noodles, and mixed vegetables. They also have a kids’ menu for any smaller appetites.

Fogo de Chão

Did someone say churrasco? Because that is the style at this chain. High-quality fire-roasted meat is their speciality. You’ll find familiar items like a filet mignon, sautéed asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes, but we highly recommend you venture off the American path and try an order of pao de queijo, a Brazilian cheese bread. No one will be going hungry.

Del Frisco's Grille

Another familiar name in the steakhouse world, this American chain delivers those craveable classics. Get the Caesar salad, USDA Prime rib eye, and of course the jumbo shrimp cocktail. To get a little vegetation in your life, we’d recommend sides of roasted asparagus and roasted wild mushrooms.

Chart House

This restaurant has been around since 1961, and it’s a classic for a reason. It’s another great option if you’re in the mood for surf and turf. With entrees like prime rib, buttery grilled salmon, and panko-crusted panéed chicken, you can get a taste of it all. Their signature sides don’t hold back either. I mean, who can resist creamed spinach or a fully loaded baked potato?

Chima Steakhouse

We aren’t mad at another South American offering — they know their meat. At Chima, you can get that 10-ounce rib eye or rack of beef ribs, tender and grilled to perfection. When it comes to sides, it’s the more the merrier, and they do a sampler of three; take your pick of creamy mashed potatoes, brown or white rice, and polenta or plantain.
